Why I Am Asking for Your Vote

Over the past several articles, I have shared who I am, spoken openly about my family and current residence, and explained the priorities and principles I would bring to council.
Now I would like to be very direct: I am asking for your vote because I believe I have the experience, judgment and commitment needed to represent North Marysburgh well.
I spent 27 years living in North Marysburgh. I know it as a working rural community, not simply as a beautiful place on a map. I understand the importance of its farms, fisheries, local businesses, roads, shorelines and family connections. Although I now live in Picton, North Marysburgh is the part of the County I know most deeply and the community I am best prepared to serve.
I am also bringing professional experience of my own.
My years serving on a pension plan committee taught me that responsible decisions must consider future obligations, not only today’s expenses. Twenty years with Pathways to Independence gave me experience within a community-serving not-for-profit, while my current role as a condominium-corporation president involves budgets, maintenance, contractors, planning and decisions affecting people’s homes and finances.
These are practical skills I will put to work for you.
What You Can Expect From Me
If elected, I will be a councillor who prepares before making decisions, asks questions when something does not make sense and considers who receives the benefit and who carries the cost.
I will support local businesses and responsible investment, but I will not treat public scrutiny or municipal rules as inconveniences. I will advocate for clearer and more timely planning without sacrificing public input or proper review. I will push for practical road and infrastructure planning.. I will try to protect agricultural land and the working rural character of North Marysburgh, not merely its appearance.
Let’s Talk
Representation should begin before Election Day. If you have a concern, an idea or a question about my experience or platform, please ask me. If you see me at Cressy Mustard, stop and say hello. Invite me to meet with your neighbours. Call or email me, even if you are undecided or disagree with something I have said.
I do not expect your vote simply because you recognize my name. I want the opportunity to earn it.
If you want a councillor who knows North Marysburgh, understands financial responsibility, will examine each issue independently and will remain available and accountable to residents, I hope you will vote for me on October 26.

I would be honoured to serve as your North Marysburgh councillor.
